Spa Scavenger hunt
My Fiancé proposed on Saturday, July 29th 2017. The day begun like any other weekend morning, leisurely. Until noon when my sister surprised me with an edible arrangement, attached was a note from my soon to be fiancé instructing me to head to the spa and “get ready for a day of relaxation and papering.” I was so happily surprised! After the spa, my sister gave me a second note that said my next stop was the nail salon and to “choose my colour wisely.” At this point I was still clueless to what this all could be about! As we were leaving the salon I got another note with a gift certificate to the mall that read “choose something new and get ready for a night on the town!” This day of papering was so out of character for my fiancé and I, as we are a young couple, he is starting a landscaping business and I am a supply with the board. While at the mall my sister informed me that we had a limited time! I was freaking out to find something as at this moment I began to have an inclination that this may really be the day, after 5 years of dating! Once I returned home with my new outfits and got ready I got my final note with a blindfold enclosed. We walked out to the car that drove me to the destination. I walked blindfolded down a path and when it was removed I saw my finance before me, as I looked around I saw my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as his family members too! He then got down on one knee and could barely pop the question before I snatched the ring! Once I chocked out the word YES, I turned my head and a series of fire works went off! It was the most magical experience, surrounded by all my family and friends. We all celebrated with champagne and cake. He knew that sharing this momentous experience with our family and friends would mean the world to the both of us!
Miss to Mrs.
Travis and I were 16 when we first met and were dating 9 years prior to the engagement. I always believed I would know when he would do it... find the ring. Catch him in an elaborate lie to hide the proposal.... That wasn't the case. Travis Darling purposed to me on June 30, 2017 in the most significant, magical way possible to me. My parents own a cottage in a small town a short distance away, this cottage is where I grew up and where Travis and I spent most our weekends and summers together. The night before the proposal, Travis told me he would be working late, as gullible as I am; this was the perfect cover story. The following day we had decided to do a night at the cottage prior to Canada day, once arriving at the cottage we waited like always until the sun was going down to sit out on the deck and enjoy the view of the sunset and water colliding. At this point we were listening to our favorite love songs subtly in the background. Travis told me he was going in to get a drink and when he came out he wrapped his arms around me, told me he loved me, and told me he had a confession to make (my heart was beating out of my chest). He told me he lied and never worked late the night prior, he was at my parents’ house asking for my hand in marriage. When I turned to look at him, he was on one knee with a ring box in hand. I have never been so happy in my life. We spent the night drinking wine and calling all our friends and family while reliving the moment. In May of 2019 I will finally marry my best friend and officially become a Darling.
Why we want to win the Romantic Getaway!
Bryan and i got engaged on July 1st 2017 canadas big 150. We have been together for 5 years. When we first met we both were working minimum jobs barely affording to get by. Over these last few years we have accomplished alot and Bryan decided he wanted to propose. I was caught off guard, as he is graduating college this december and we have been working hard to take life day by day and agreed we would wait for the right time financially. Apparently he has been working side jobs and doing full time schooling so that he could afford my engagement ring and our wedding. The day of the proposal was seriously the best day of my life so far but not the way bryan was expecting things to go.. July first is actually our dating anniversary so we always did something gift wise or went to dinner somewhere to enjoy embrace another year beginning in our relationship. This year bryan asked me if i wanted to go do a picnic at my horse farm instead of doing the 'gift thing'. I thought that was a great idea. After i got all cheery about the idea of spending a day with my love and my 3 horses, i realized that i was a little thrown off. A) bryan never offers to go with me to feed the horses because hes a city boy. And b) it was my only day off that long weekend and we usually do adult life necessary tasks like laundry and groceries, but i just thought maybe because he just wanted to do something different this year thats why he suggested it. So as lunch time approached i decided i was too tired to go out again to the barn for a picnic and we would do fireworks that night instead. After i had said that i could tell he was a little gloomy in a sense and told me he wanted to get us some coffees from tims as a treat. When he got back he had 2 coffees in a tray and one hand behind his back.. So here i was grabbing my coffee going off about how we said we wouldnt be doing gifts and it better be a donut behind his back, when he got down on one knee and proposed. I was so blown away with tears filling the bottom of my eyes. I had no idea that was coming at all, and of course i said yes plus who doesnt like diamonds with their tims coffee

The happy ending
My fiance and I were going through a really rough time mentally, and I showed him If I didn't have you by Thompson Square because it reminded me of him. He got emotional and told me to get dressed up and that we were going out. So we got dressed up, we went to a nice restaurant. He ordered us wine, even though he usually doesn't drink wine, however this one he ended up enjoyed. He made a toast to us, and our relationship. We walked back to the car where he made me close my eyes, and handed me my favorite chocolate bar, and a single rose. We then walked to my favorite spot in the city, the walking bridge, and watch the sun go down. Then he told me he wanted this spot to have one more good memory, and told me I was the love of his life, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. When we got back to the car, he gave me the rest of the bouquet of roses. I was engaged previous and no forward thinking was involved at all, and during a not great in my life, as you can imagine it didn't work out. But this was specially because he made it about me, and our relationship. Recently, we lost what we thought were friends, because of our decision to be together and to be happy but in the end it was all worth it. We spent so long letting other people affect us and our moods, because they couldn't be happy for us, but in the end we have each other and that's all the matters. There's no room for judgement in other people's happiness, we're good for each other and crazy about one another. What better way to celebrate that then a romantic trip for two!
My husband proposed to me at a beautiful French restaurant that is a train car in St. Boniface Manitoba called at the time La Vielle Gare and now called Resto Gare. He told me that we were going out for dinner, to dress up and that we were celebrating buying our house and living together for 1 year. We ordered dinner and then after dinner, he slid out of his chair and got down on one knee and told me that he loved me more than the stars in the universe and would I honor him by becoming his wife. Of course I said yes. That was 19 years ago this year. I think we deserve the trip as 2018 will be our 20th wedding anniversary and it would be lovely to celebrate it in the Dominican where we have never been. Thank you so much.
My fiancé and I had met online two and a half years ago. I had created an account online, not for the purpose of meeting someone but just to meet some new faces, make new friends, etc. I had received a message from this guy who only gave me one worded responses.. so here I am thinking "naw he isn't interested, just wanting to say hello, nothing more". We had exchanged numbers and we talked and talked for days. We talked about meeting but he went away for a couple weeks so I thought it was too good to be true. The moment he came back, boom, he took me on our first date, which was on December 27th, 2015. We went to play pool and grab some burgers and fries. I fell in love with this guy but of course, I got nervous, and when I get nervous, I start to talk but not make any sense or I end up making a fool out of myself. He had dropped me off at home and I looked at him and said "I guess we should hug or something"... duh!! Why would I even say that haha. I went inside and told my mom "I bet he won't even call me back because I just said the most dumbest thing". Sure enough, we were inseparable since then. On November 14th 2016, he had popped the question while we were on vacation in Cuba. We went snorkelling and swam with dolphins. My fiancé had brought the ring and put it in his swim trunk pockets. Guess the ring was meant to be since he didn't lose it (I'm shocked since he went swimming with it). Anyways, we were snorkelling and he told me he found something. So I swam over and he told me I had to look underwater. While I put my goggles on, I went under the water and there he was holding the ring. I swam back to the top and of course, again with the butterflies and nervousness, I said "wow, did you find that" haha. He asked me to marry him and without pause I said yes! After I just wrote 2 pages here haha, if I could win this getaway, I would be only happy bride to be! My fiancé and I have been talking about going away again, so this would just make our day! I'm sure there are probably 500000000 other people who would love this, so I'll just be happy for the lucky couple who wins! Congrats to all the ladies who stories I just read! They are adorable! Cheers
I like to go on a very big adventure and have a nice time and list to some good people while eating healthy and enjoying watching people and looking at my face and washing it
Are you gonna kiss me or not!
My fiancé Jeff and I met at Boots and Hearts country festival 2yrs ago. We started hanging out that weekend and enjoying the concerts together when a couple asked us as we were walking by if we could take their picture for them under the sign "Are you gonna kiss me or not" so we said ya sure of course then after we took their picture they said let us take one for you guys and we both looked at each other like we aren't a couple but ok what the heck. That was our first kiss and where the magic all began. This year on Aug.13 we were at Boots and Hearts for the day celebrating our 2yr anniversary of where we first met and we thought let's get a picture under the sign again of where it all began and low and behold he got down on one knee when a friend distracted me standing under our sign and proposed with all of our friends there sharing the special moment with us by taking pictures and videos for a lifetime of memories. Can't wait to marry my best friend!
My fiancé and I have been best friends for over 15 years! On August 12th, 2017 he popped the question! We were celebrating our 7 year anniversary, after dinner we headed over to a wooded area besides his deceased parents old house where in the pouring rain, under the stars and a lamp light, down on 1 knee - he asked me to be his wife! We have been through so much in 7 years, I fought and beat breast cancer. His only remaining relatives (grandmother & grandfather) both passed away within a year of one another. My mother was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness. It has been one thing after another for us however each and every bump in the road has only made us stronger. About 10 years ago he & I lost contact and I heard thru numerous friends that he had passed away. A year or so after this, he added me as a friend on Facebook - needless to say I was ecstatic & skeptical at first. So I sent him my phone number and waited for his call. When it came, I burst into tears from the very moment I heard his voice. I fell in love with him when I was 15 years old and that love never died - the rest as they say, is history. We are now planning on getting married in September of 2018 and we couldn't be more excited! Life has a wonderfully mysterious way of working itself out!
Second time is a charm
My boyfriend and I have been together for over 4 years now and are so happy together but we are both previously divorced and had bad marriages the first time around. Vowing never to get married again, we both spent many years alone all the while raising kids and moving forward in our careers. 4 years ago an innocent coffee date turned our world around. Our first "date" was meeting at a local park and enjoying a Tim Hortons coffee while trying not to show how uncomfortable we both were trying to get to know each other. We powered through it and everyday since that day has been better than the last. We both learned together how to love and trust again. 1 year ago we returned to that same park on the very same day with Tim Horton's coffee in hand to celebrate the day we met, and the love of my life asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said yes! We deserve this vacation because we have both had to overcome so much in our lives to find love again with eachother. Neither one of us want to do the "traditional" wedding this time around. We both want to go away with close family and friends and just enjoy being together and celebrating our love with those closest to us.
On August 5, 2017 we had planned a house get together with friends, some family and a karaoke host. My boyfriend gathered everyone in the living room and got on the mic sang - Tracy Byrd - The Keeper of the Stars - as he sang I could see the emotion in his face and hear it in his voice. Once the song was over, he thanked everyone for coming, then turned to me and told me how much he loved me, got down on one knee and popped the question. It was the most special moment of my life. A few days prior to this he was "helping a friend move", while he was actually over speaking with my dad and asking for his permission to marry me. I truly believe we deserve this vacation because we have been only on one hot climate vacation since we started to date 5 years ago. I would love to celebrate our engagement.
Thank you for entering and good luck!
